Frequently asked questions

I am currently seeing patients for house calls in their home or workplace and via telemedicine. I conduct house calls in the Peninsula/South Bay region east of I-280 from Redwood City to Sunnyvale and in Portola Valley, as well as throughout the Bay Area for an additional fee based on travel time. Please contact me for more information.
For telemedicine visits, patients must be located in the state of California at the time of their visit.
I will be offering in-clinic evaluations and procedure visits in the Bay Area in 2026. I will also be expanding my telemedicine practice to include patients in Massachusetts in the near future.

My practice is private pay only, which allows me to offer longer visits and more personalized care. Following your appointment, you will receive a superbill which you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. The amount reimbursed will depend on your out-of-network benefits. Any labs, imaging, medications, etc. are typically handled the same way by your insurance regardless of the ordering provider. Please check with your insurance company if you have questions about coverage.

No, membership is not required (nor is one offered at this time). All services are provided on a fee-for-service basis. Payment is due at the time of service.

Referrals are not required for most services. Please feel free to reach out directly in order to schedule an appointment.
Most procedures require either a referral from an outside provider or a prior evaluation by me in order to determine the appropriateness of the procedure. Shockwave does not require a referral if you have previously been evaluated by a physician and have an established diagnosis that is amenable to shockwave.

I work primarily with teens and adults, but I also have experience with the more common musculoskeletal injuries seen in younger patients. If you are seeking orthopedic care for your younger child, please inquire, and I will let you know if I am a good fit for their needs.

The content of the visit is very similar to a clinic visit, except that it is conducted in the comfort of your home or office. Please ensure the area will be relatively quiet and sufficiently private to your level of preference. To ensure confidentiality, I will state only my first and last name and that I have a private meeting with you when arriving at your workplace.
Pain or injury involving the upper extremity, neck, chest, and upper back can be evaluated with you seated in a standard chair. For issues involving the low back, pelvis, and lower extremity, please ensure your space will accommodate a portable exam table (approx. 75”x29”) which I will bring to the visit.
I will bring everything needed for the visit, including an exam table, wifi hotspot to facilitate access to your medical records, all equipment/supplies, and a gown or shorts for you to change into if the body region of interest cannot be accessed in the clothes you are wearing. Some people prefer to wear or bring their own shorts or tank top.

Often, yes! In some cases, additional diagnostics such as imaging may be needed before moving forward with a procedure. Additionally, some treatments such as PRP require you to be off certain medications for a period of time prior to the injection, which may necessitate scheduling for a later date. In rare cases, a medication may not be available on site and must be ordered for a specific patient.

Prior to your appointment, I will reach out to ensure I have any prior records (imaging, labs, visit notes) that are needed so that we can make best use of your appointment time. You will receive an intake form and notice of my practice’s policies via email. Please complete these prior to your appointment. The intake form helps me understand how I can best be of service to you, and I review all information you provide prior to your appointment.
